Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are used on mindtreks.com, what each is for, and how to control them. It is a companion to our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else about how we handle personal information.

What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file a website saves to your device when you visit. Cookies let the site remember things — your preferences, whether you are logged in, what you have chosen in a banner like ours. "Similar technologies" includes things like browser local storage and pixel tags, which can serve comparable functions. For brevity we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in the rest of this document.
The categories we use
We organize the cookies on this site into three categories. The category names match exactly the toggles in our consent banner.
1. Essential (always on)
These are strictly necessary for the Site to work. They cannot be switched off. They are not used for advertising or analytics.
- mt_consent_v1 — stores your cookie-preference choice itself. Set by MindTreks. Lifetime: 13 months. Without this we would have to ask you on every page load, which would defeat the purpose.
- Web-host security cookies — set transiently by our web host (DigitalOcean) for protection against automated abuse. Session-lifetime only.
2. Analytics (opt-in)
Set only if you grant the "analytics" category in the consent banner. These help us understand which content is read and which retreat pages get traffic, in aggregate. No personal identifiers are sent to the analytics provider, and IP addresses are anonymized at the source.
- _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics 4. Pseudonymous client identifier and session data. Provider: Google LLC. Lifetime: up to 13 months. Google Privacy Policy.
3. Advertising (opt-in)
Set only if you grant the "advertising" category. These allow our advertising partners to measure the performance of our own promotional campaigns and to enable interest-based advertising about MindTreks across other websites and apps. They do not receive your name, email, phone number, or anything you submitted in our inquiry form.
- AppLovin pixel and identifiers. Provider: AppLovin Corporation. Used for measurement and interest-based advertising of MindTreks campaigns. Lifetime: up to 13 months. AppLovin Privacy Policy.
- Other programmatic-network identifiers. When and if we use additional advertising partners, they will appear here before they are activated and will be subject to the same opt-in requirement.
How to change your choice
You can change your cookie preferences at any time:
- Click Cookie Settings in the footer of any page on this site. This opens the preferences panel where you can toggle each category. Changes take effect immediately.
- Clear cookies and storage for this site in your browser. The consent banner will reappear and you can make new choices.
- Use your browser's general controls (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge all have settings for blocking or clearing cookies). Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent the site from functioning correctly, including not being able to remember your consent choice itself.
If you have granted advertising-cookie consent and want to additionally opt out at the partner level, you can use:
- The opt-out controls each partner offers (see their privacy policies linked above).
- Industry self-regulatory tools: aboutads.info (DAA), youronlinechoices.com (EDAA).
- Mobile platform controls: limit ad tracking (iOS) / opt out of ads personalization (Android).
Do Not Track
Our consent banner is the authoritative control for tracking on this site. We treat a "do-not-sell-or-share" Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as an opt-out from the advertising category by default, in addition to honoring an explicit choice in our banner.
Changes to this Policy
If we add a new partner or category, we will update this page and the consent banner before activating the partner. Material changes are also reflected in the "last updated" date above.
